Humanist- Civil Ceremonies

What we do is create bonds between people and build communities with ceremonies.

Civil Celebrants in Australia are trained to conduct many different ceremonial events, not just weddings! Some celebrants have undertaken courses of study in many ceremonial events. Any event that has some emotional or other significance to a person can and should be the cause of a celebration. The key to what to celebrate is emotion! Any event in your life that causes a strong emotion is worthy of a ritual or celebration.

Here is a list of significant events in one’s life that can be marked with a ritual or special celebration:

Birth
Naming
First Day of School or Kindergarten
Graduation (transition from a primary to a secondary school, then to University or College).
Significant Birthdays
Engagement
Wedding
Commitment
On taking over a House
Leaving a House
Death of a pet
Reaffirmation of Vows (can be made at any time, typically at 5 year intervals)
Divorce
Change of Career
Menopause
Retirement
Funerals

Humnanists honour these significant times in life, they are milestones on your life journey and records of your story!
